
History of contemporary architecture. From deconstruction to reconstruction.
This article represents both how to perform a contemporary architecture history workshop, as well as the analytical and critical of three architectural works with different but contemporary contexts and origins. From the of construction and then embark on a reconstruction and final conclusion "Program".
The present work was proposed within the framework of History workshop III of the degree in architecture of the UBA (Buenos Aires' University). The proposal was to relate three architectural works with different contexts and origins although contemporary:
- Habitat 67. It currently represents a housing complex located in the city of Montreal (Canada). Developed by architect Moshe Safdie (Israeli-Canadian). It was originally conceived as his doctoral thesis in architecture at McGill University and later built as a pavilion for Expo-67.
- Munster Library. Building located in Münster (Germany) designed by the contemporary architect Julia Bolles-Wilson.
- Rolex Center. Called theRolex Learning Center. A building located on the campus of the Federal Polytechnic School of Lausanne (Switzerland). Work of the Japanese architecture studio SANAA, which was opened to the public in 2010.
Correlatively, we can see the contemporary buildings reference, the "Context":
A series of categories and axes who would guide the analysis with the aim of addressing them in a comprehensive way, taking into account not only particular and general aspects of each one of them but also developing a deconstruction work and then embarking on a analytical and critical reconstruction.

This reconstruction work was enriched with the elaboration of a representation code and connection ties graphics specially designed so that the reading is non-linear, seeking a more particularized and dynamic critical reflection and thus tending towards a rhizomatic analysis.
The process involved, on the one hand, working with specific data from the plays and on the other a reflective and critical exercise emphasizing both their immediate roots and the significance that each one reached.
Graphic communication was weighted over written language trying to make it even more expressive and unified. For this we resort to the use of ideograms (Graphic sign that represents a concept or idea), chromatic scales and other resources that benefited the multiplicity of relationships and the dynamism in their reading.

Once we have a global and schematic vision of the job. From the initial context based on the three architectural works, the later milestones - ideograms and the final conclusion, the programs (Social housing, public library and educational center).
We must delve into the context and explanation of the milestones by expanding the information through individualized tabs. In the latter case, due to the complexity of displaying the information in an article, from OVACEN we have run an application where by clicking on the "moving points" of the following image - which can be enlarged, lower right - it will show an informative frame that broadens the knowledge abouthistory in architectureaccording context - building - ideogram.

The authors of the project are Takacs Daniela - Teruel Maria, associate professor Arq Esp. Lisnovsky Martin and Arch. Barbara Schunemann (Head TP) within the framework of the History Workshop 3, Brandariz Chair. Fadu UBA (Argentina). We hope that we can all learn about the contemporary history of architecture, both from how and the project was carried out and from its content.
We also want to propose two other articles of relevance; history of housing through time represented by a video and the types of construction in Spain and Europe in order to expand the information.
