Formwork and formwork course in building and civil works
We can all recognize that there are many engineers or architects who are active on social networks and on their own blogs, but if there is someone who stands out above the national average in Spain, it is the Professor of the Polytechnic University of Valencia in the area of Construction Engineering, we talk about Victor Yepes Piqueras. In its different channels, we can test a technical quality on the fields of engineering and construction of high level, and this is appreciated.
This time, its informative side goes further. Just launched a course on construction of civil works and building with formwork and falsework, which in addition to being totally free (Is a MOOC), is endorsed and organized through the polytechnic university of Valencia. So thanks!
Course features
It is a course that does not require special knowledge and is designed to be useful to a wide range of professionals with or without experience, students of any branch of construction, vocational training or university.
The learning of the course has been staggered so that the user can delve into those aspects that are of most interest to them through complementary documentation and links to catalogs, Internet videos, etc.
In this course you will learn the different applicability and formwork typologies and the falsework used in building, civil engineering works and in the precast industry. It was especially indexed in the understanding of the thrust of fresh concrete on the formwork, stripping, formwork and stripping or in aspects related to safety in formwork work.
The formwork and falsework of successive floors in buildings is studied in detail and the formwork and formwork used in bridges, high structures, tunnels, buildings, among others: Telescopic, sliding, climbing formwork, tunnel formwork, self-launching formwork, self-supporting formwork, etc..
We recall three articles of interest:
- The scaffold and types of scaffolding with their characteristics
- Machinery on site and construction
- Signage of works and informative posters of occupational hazards (Downloadable)
Course content is organized based on 4 modules, each one, with 4 learning sequences that allow, with a dedication of less than one hour a day, to learn the formwork and formwork basics. Each week a module will be worked on, the course having an estimated duration of one month.
Learning objectives
- Understand the limitations and usefulness of auxiliary structures (formwork and falsework) in the construction of civil and building works.
- Select and evaluate the best type of formwork and formwork necessary for a construction under certain conditions, considering safety and economy.
