Agroecology
Although the farming Traditional continues to feed us every day, we know with certainty that the future of its production goes through a reconversion and change if we want to preserve natural resources and the environment.
First, for an unstoppable reality; the increase in world population is being radical, and, as a consequence, there will be many mouths to feed in an agricultural ecosystem that, from the current perspective, will not support the demand for food.
If to this we add the negative effects of conventional agriculture that it is currently having on natural resources; such as water, soil, and biodiversity or climate uncertainties. We have a pretty dangerous cocktail if the human race wants to survive a future that is far from clear.
So we need a transition to sustainable food and agriculture systems…
Agroecology online course
To try to fix all the negative factors of conventional agriculture, enter the study of science agroecology or the ecological processes applied to agricultural production systems with the intention of promoting a food production that respects natural resources, and, in turn, can provide sufficient and necessary food for the world's population.
The free agroecology course It is taught by the National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA) of Argentina that begins next month and is completely online. Initially, the training is a project developed in France, by the National Institute of Higher Agronomic Studies of Montpellier (SupAgro) that INTA has worked to adapt it with content in a Latin American approach.
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) highlights the importance of this issue in the 10 elements of agroecology that are interconnected.
To review, two topics of interest and related published on this same website:
- The importance of the circular economy
- What is degrowth theory

Participants will learn to analyze and describe specific implementation situations, identify agroecological practices in their immediate environment and specify processes and methods of agroecological "transition" towards non-aggressive procedures.
Is online training on agroecology It is built as a dynamic of participatory training, based on the social and geographical diversity of the participants. The course is in MOOC format (Massive Online Open Courses - open to everyone) to take it remotely.
