Global warming of the Earth through the clouds

Global warming of the planet

This is possibly the year with the most anomalies in temperature that is being recorded on Earth since we have data evidence. We wanted to show several images of the global warming that confirm a reality that many of us fear and that will undoubtedly affect us, be it in the near or distant future, we have to consider that the way we understand the environment or respect it will have to change if we want to prosper as a human society.

Here, it is no longer only about protecting climate change, which is an obvious priority, there are already other factors such as biodiversity that is in absolute decline, for example, and that we must start to think and act differently in the human activities that are doing so much damage.

Changes in global temperature

The steady increase in Earth temperaturehow the greenhouse gases that accumulate in the atmosphere and trap, more and more heat, are taking the planet to a point where the catastrophic consequences of warming can be practically assured.

A new graph produced by Ed Hawkins, a scientist at the University of Reading, (UK). It shows us a temperature evolution by months from 1850 to 2016.

We can see in the global warming image of the previous Earth that evolution is not good at all.

A bad year in global temperature

In reality, 2016 is a bad year with some unusual records and that according to scientists will be the hottest year of all the records available.

The warm temperature that it did in February and that all the world alarms jumped, was probably dominated by the warm conditions of the El Niño phenomenon, which tends to have hot peaks in the troposphere around February, but it seems that the whole story is not here, already that the tropical anomaly for February 2016 (0.99º C) is still approximately 0.3º C below the value of February 1998, during the "Super El Niño" of that year.

At the same time, strong anomalies were recorded in the temperature of the land surfaceOutside the tropics, in the northern hemisphere, in some places it reached 1.15 ° C and 1.4 ° C higher than the average, marking a “milestone”. Biodiversity is in the red

This month the prestigious magazine Science published a study carried out by the Natural History Museum of London and UNEP-WCMC) in which it is found that biodiversity and therefore ecosystems are in imminent danger … "The loss of species diversity has reached dangerous levels in 58% of the world's land area"

It is actually the first report to estimate the loss of biodiversity from ecological communities on a global scale. This loss can influence the functioning of the ecosystem (More data here) and the sustainability of human societies, an example, in the cycle of nutrients, which is ecological recycling through the food chain.

Threatened species are found throughout the world …

The Arctic with low ice levels

The Arctic has been one of the areas of the world that has seen extremely high temperatures this year, which has led tolow sea ice levels. In the following two images we can corroborate it.

We can learn more from the National Snow & Data Center (Here). We remember the wonderful video at the hands of the renowned composer and pianist Ludovico Einaudi, who has performed a musical piece with a grand piano placed in the middle of the Arctic to raise awareness about their protection. (From the article how to save the Arctic)

CO2 increase

It is predicted that carbon dioxide levels are on an alarming rise (Now over 400ppm). Carbon dioxide concentrations in the atmosphere have been breaking the records of every year for decades, but the margin by which the record is expected to break an annual record in 2016. The increase for 2016 is expected to be 3, 1… versus an annual average of 2.1.
