Wind skyscraper

We have always seen that creativity in the field of architecture has no limits, and there are many examples throughout history. Now, we add a "plus" to the design thanks to new technologies, materials and trends that were not contemplated before.

We know that Asia and the East are undoubtedly the dream paradise for the most creative architects who want to unleash their ideas. The big architecture firms know it, and they don't stop launching risky proposals of dubious execution.

In this sense, we already have to forget about the revolving restaurants at the top of the skyscrapers, too boring! Nowadays, the trend is for the entire building to be physically rotated or, at least, some singular part such as the impressive mobile terrace of this house.

From the architecture studio HAADS (Hayri Atak Architectural Design Studio) they propose us a wind-powered skyscraper made up of three buildings that rotate on themselves to generate their own electricity.

The conceptual project of the skyscraper called Squall tower, is by the Turkish architect Hayri Atak. This designed to physically rotate in the wind while looking at the Dubai skyline.

The Squall Tower skyscraper is designed to physically rotate in the wind while looking at the Dubai skyline and generates electricity

East turbine-shaped skyscraper It is built on a pivoting base, under which the motor that transforms the circular motion into electricity is hidden. The tower consists of 3 buildings that are twisted helically forming the blades and are connected to each other by several nerves and a main axis.

According to the HAADS architecture studio, this helical tower would rotate in 48 hours: The animation we show is sped up to better represent the movement.

Although from a technical perspective, they have not provided more details yet. It is recognized that, although the tower does not rotate thanks to the wind, the idea that the building can rotate continuously is more viable from a mechanical perspective.

At present, this Squall Tower wind tower is nothing but a creative concept whose main interest lies in the idea of creating a 100% self-sufficient building from an energy point of view.

The other interesting point, in terms of user experience, is the idea of offering its inhabitants a 360 degree view that changes throughout the day and allowing you to observe both the panoramic city of Dubai and the horizon of the sea.

By last, at the top of the building there is a helipad which will allow customers and visitors to access the building from the top (Remember the article of the largest skyscrapers in the world), while the revolving entrances located at the base will provide an entrance to each of the 3 helical towers of the building.

It is unknown when the construction of the Squall Tower will begin or if it will only be left in a forgotten drawer, although the design of the building has been announced on the official website of the HAADS architecture studio.

Do not forget that the HAADS study It's one of the large international architecture firms with multiple projects executed around the world; from museums, commercial buildings, shops, houses, etc. So his ideas, although apparently conceptual, many come to be built.

New daring architecture projects that contemplate that trend of the sustainable building that works with renewable energy and with designs of dubious execution, which an engineer would propose.
