A green facade with a lot of design and taste

The greenest facade since Berlin

Not always when we think of green facades they refer to those walls with vegetation to the last corner of the wall and that bring life to the city.

There are surprising ideas from a design perspective by wisely combining materials and greenish color patterns to achieve a “forest” proportionality, appearance and image that translates into an original green facade that blends in with its surroundings.

A peculiar three-storey single-family house is engulfed in the urban fabric of Berlin with a pixelated façade made with ceramic tiles in a masterly way merging with the garden that surrounds it. We are talking about the Siding Idea house, the work of the architecture studio Brandt + Simon architekten.

With the use of flat tiles for the entire facade and front, a durable solution was found that also has good design potential, providing a technically perfect coverage on the wooden structure that supports the building.

The architecture studio made different proposals to obtain the building and the ideal type of facade since its location represents a peculiarity in the urban fabric of the city of Berlin.

Although apparently the building does not present especially measures for the benefit of the environment or energy saving, if we look closely, we will find a structure made of wood and cellulose panels with large modules, use of ecological materials or a roof where solar panels are deposited for energy collection. With a cost per built square meter of 1,030 Euros, it represents an excellent option to consider.

The wooden facade that the crane collects is impressive… This is how we built the building in two days!

The windows of the building seem to swim without order in a singular facing and in varied dimensions with a galvanized steel frame highlighting them on the green façade.

A unique building that enhances the beauty of the neighborhood both for its uniqueness in the front and for the coherence of its appearance in the urban setting where it is located. And for inside the house, we have a guide on how to make a vertical green wall in homes that can undoubtedly be of help, in addition to knowing a new way to decorate your home.
