The example of a multi-sensory urban garden
The truth is that we have always thought that the landscaping profession must be tough and in the field of urban garden, even more. Renovate, reconvert, adapt spaces for the general public and that, in addition to having an obvious utility, create sensations or emotions while maintaining a balance between generalized taste, it must really be a difficult objective without being "dropped" by a multitude of criticisms for not say … wow!
If already in this article of plants to decorate the house we treat the interiors, today we have to see a different proposal for the exterior.
From Italy and hand in hand with the studioOFL Architecture have wanted to provide a new look at traditional garden trying - as far as possible - to introduce different elements and forms with the main purpose of increasing the sensations of those who participate and move regularly in the urban gardens, in addition to being able to achieve adaptability to spaces. It is the search for the senses; hearing, smell, touch, taste, sight.(See also architecture of the senses)
The project that embodies these ideas is called Zighizaghi, which is arranged along two main axes; the horizontality where the base and the seats are located, and the verticality, where the lighting and sound systems are located.
A conglomeration of wooden pieces in the shape of modular hexagons inspired by honeycombs forms the horizontal base and urban garden structure, being able to be extended or reduced - according to convenience - attending to the disposition of the pieces or to place it at different levels and heights. In the following infographic we can better identify the concept.
The vertical part identifies the lighting and a series of red dots (Pods) that interact with the user with different sounds when touching the legs of the stand.
The garden contains all kinds of plants that have also been selected to resist the city's pollution. Inside the building, there is a green mantle of plants in the style of a vertical garden that brings that naturalness to the space.

To discover the senses of smell and taste, different aromatic plants have been used, including some edibles and small trees. In the following video we can learn about the process of carrying out the project.
The idea does not only consist of design the urban garden exposed. The intention is to create the same structure with different materials, such as concrete, and to be able to conceive replicas at will and according to different locations according to needs.The garden of the senses!
We remember that we already entered the subject with the article urban furniture where different examples, including some of "adoptable" gardens, we saw that the open spaces of the cities are becoming a point of interest to develop very interesting projects.
