In the following post we intend to reflect the importance of introducing the performance of air conditioning equipment in the energy certificate of a home and the consequences of estimating it by default, for this we compare two cases with the CE3X program, in the first one the qualification is obtained with the default performance and in the second the seasonal performance is estimated from the nominal performance obtained from reading the equipment's nameplate and its age.
It is a block house built prior to the NBE CT-79 Standard, located in Valencia. The house has a natural gas heater, as well as a heat pump air conditioning unit with wall split located in the dining room and therefore covering a demand that corresponds to an area of 21.96 m2, more than ten years old. age, in this first case the Seasonal Performance is estimated from the nominal performance "by default" and the age of the equipment.
In this second case, the seasonal yield is estimated according to the installation, applying actual nominal yield, obtained from the technical characteristics indicated on its plate, dividing the thermal power generated by the split by the electrical consumption, for each service (a COP of 276% is obtained in heating and an EER of 254% in cooling) .
As only the performance of the air conditioning equipment varied, the heating and cooling demands are maintained, since the thermal envelope of the house is the same in both cases.
Obviously in the second case when introducing a team with higher performance energy consumption and emissions in heating and cooling are reduced, so the energy rating of the house has improved.
In the first case, when introducing the performance of the team by default, the program penalizes us by obtaining the worst possible rating. We must bear in mind that the energy efficiency of a home is influenced not only by the thermal envelope but also by the performance of our ACS and air conditioning equipment.
What do you think of the difference between adopting estimated or real data in an air conditioning unit?
