Rehabilitation in buildings

How to solve problems in rehab
The aging of residential buildings has three notable origins: The poor construction quality, the lack of minimum benefits such as adequate thermal and acoustic insulation, and some deficiencies in its maintenance.
Consequently, when a building is rehabilitated we should meet three objectives:
- Repair of constructive or structural injuries for adequate consolidation.
- Improve the qualities of the building; improve thermal or acoustic insulation, waterproofing, etc.
- Create a building maintenance plan.
Address the intervention of a building in an objective and judicious way in the field of rehabilitation is difficult. Most of the regulations, guides, tools or manuals focus on new construction and finding technical documentation with clear procedures to rehabilitate a constructive element is a palpable difficulty (We checked it in the article on how to rehabilitate roofs where it was already difficult for us to find the 10 technical books that we contribute).
It is evident that in an article it is impossible to explain all the technical aspects necessary to rehabilitate a facade work, for example. But today we have the solution!
We refer to the book Constructive Solutions in Rehabilitation created by the Valencian Building Institute (IVE) that has just opened it for free download.
A Rehabilitation book has 700 technical pages and we can download it completely legally and for free in PDF format (the paper book costs € 150 today)… And what is in the book?
The document is divided into two large blocks, and in both, the study of the rehabilitation of roofs, interior horizontal partitions and floors, facades interior vertical and dividing partitions:
Block 1. Typological classification of existing and improved construction solutions:
This first section focuses on the division and characteristics of the materials in the interventions The roofs, facades, gaps or interior partitions are practiced. Due to the amount of information, an identifier code has been applied, which is explained at the beginning of the block.

Although in the first block the summary tables of materials according to the situation in the building and work are very good. The cards that include all the parts of the building with details of roofs, all types of facades, interior partitions and vertical and horizontal partitions. They are outlined in a very detailed way so that it is easy to use in the rehabilitation of the construction (the structure of the cards is explained on page 327) and we can see the following example:

How we obtain the rehabilitation book
The document has 700 pages and we will be able to download it in PDF (it is 56 megabytes). To download the free book we must access from HERE which is the website of the Instituto Valenciano de la Edificación (IVE).
We must select «Downloadable PDF» for the document to be free and add it to the «shopping cart». Afterwards, we carry out the purchase process where we will have to register on the web and, once registered, a tab will appear to download the book in PDF:
Remember that the document is heavy, it will take a while to download if we have a slow internet connection. For the rest, the document has a very good technical quality and can be a good reference complement to improve our rehabilitation library.
