Within the framework of additional or complementary tools to promote energy saving, different applications are appearing implemented in an international cooperation framework through the co-financing of transnational projects through the ERDF (European Regional Development Fund).
At the time we already presented E4R energy rehabilitation tool which has the objective of promoting and promoting the energy renovation of buildings, now we present the EnerBuiLCA tool.
Tool designed to carry out the life cycle analysis of existing or newly constructed buildings, allowing to identify the best solutions in terms of energy efficiency and respect for the environment, thus reducing the direct and indirect energy impacts of buildings.
The direct and indirect environmental impact (throughout the entire life cycle) of the building in Europe and in particular in Spain can be summarized in the following figures:
Despite the high energy and environmental impact of buildings and developments in their use phase, it is also essential to analyze the rest of the life cycle phases. Reducing the environmental impact of buildings and developments requires the application of appropriate, global impact assessment methodologies that include all stages of their life cycle.
Encourage sustainability in the construction and rehabilitation of Buildings, but in this case all stages of the Building are analyzed, allowing through the introduction of basic information of a complete building or a constructive solution, the calculation of primary energy and the carbon footprint associated with the phases of production, construction and use of a new construction or rehabilitation building.
Specifically, the program implements four stages under study:
The tool developed within the framework of the Enerbuilca project "Life Cycle Assessment for Energy Efficiency in Buildings", belonging to the Interreg-SUDOE IV program co-financed with ERDF funds, is now available online for free use by professionals in the construction sector.
This tool allows, through the introduction of basic information of a complete building or a constructive solution, the calculation of primary energy and the carbon footprint associated with the life cycle of a new construction or rehabilitation building.
To complement the information and be able to work in a coherent way with the tool, we should previously read the explanatory manual of the life cycle analysis applied to the Building sector. Application and program manuals:
In addition to social networks from which we can benefit on Facebook and Linkedin. It should be noted that it can be an adequate complement to our work due to the simplification it presents since it is an arduous task to obtain the data presented by the application, it has libraries based on the Technical Code and it is effectively a free application.
Note: We are sorry but the project has been closed from the EU.
