Tulip characteristics

The tulip has 2 to 6 sheets, although some species have reached a maximum of 12, which is logical considering that there are close to 3,000 varieties of tulips, known by different names. Tulips generally have one flower per stem, although some species have up to 4 flowers on a single stem. On the other hand, the average height of a tulip plant ranges from 10 to 70 centimeters.

Grow tulips

Keep in mind that tulips are available from November to May and only have one shelf life of 3 to 7 days. They grow best in climates with a long, cool spring. To cultivate them you need well drained, aerated and clay soils. In addition, these plants must be protected from small animals such as squirrels or rabbits.

Tulips symbology

The tulip, which is used to make bouquets of flowers, as well as other flower arrangements, is the national flower of Turkey. Also, tulip flowers are considered as a perfect lovers symbol, passion, love and romance.
