Aid plan for energy efficiency and energy saving projects

A new piece of news is being highlighted in all the media in favor of the energy efficiency and energy savings in different sectors. The Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism has just announced that it will proceed to allocate168 million euros for a plan for energy efficiency and saving projects through the Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (IDAE).

These lines of action are specified in different aid programs which have been approved by the IDAE Board of Directors, the body that will administer the direct aid and support for financing that have been articulated.

The programs are endowed with funds from the National Fund for Energy Efficiency and the General State Budgets (2015), and may be co-financed with the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), in the Operational Program for Sustainable Development before 2014 - 2015 . New aid energy saving and efficiency plan

The approved direct aid and financing support programs are implemented within the framework of the National Energy Efficiency Action Plan between 2014 and 2022(Other documentation of interest HERE) that will allow Spain to meet the savings objectives derived from Directive 2012/27 / EU. (This Directive obliges Member States to achieve a cumulative energy saving target before December 31, 2022, which, in the case of Spain, has been calculated at 571 ktoe / year)

Four lines of action will be carried out:

  • Energy rehabilitation of buildings.
  • Transport
  • SME
  • Large company in the industrial sector and outdoor lighting

It is estimated that the savings from these programs will be equivalent to the annual consumption of more than 150,000 families and will prevent the annual emission into the atmosphere of more than 440,000 tons of CO2.

Lines of action in energy saving and efficiency projects

Building Energy Rehabilitation Grants (PAREER-CRECE Program)

Modification of the present Aid Program for the Energy Rehabilitation of Existing Buildings to increase your budget and expand its scope to all buildings, whatever their use, so that it becomes a motor for new comprehensive actions of improved energy efficiency through reforms of the thermal envelope and energy-consuming facilities, such as through the use of thermal renewable technologies.

The relevant budget for the expansion is 75 million euros from the PGE-2015 for the CRECE Plan, which will be added to the initial funds of the PAREER Program, which had 125 million euros.

In an auxiliary way, the new program of aid for the energy renovation of buildings (PAREER-CRECE) will allow to produce new savings that will be added to the previous ones, with an essential drag effect on each and every one of the fields of the economy of Spain.

In a complementary way, it is planned to articulate a program aimed at the constructions of the General State Administration, which will have an essential revitalizing effect on economic activity.

Transportation aid

Aid program (cash delivery without consideration) aimed at companies for actions of modal change and more efficient use of means of transport, in which the implementation of transport plans for work in companies, the improvement of fleet management of goods and passengers and the delivery of effective driving courses for industrial and commercial cars, with a budget of eight million euros.

SME grants and outstanding company in the industrial field

Aid program (cash delivery without consideration) to facilitate the adoption of energy saving measures in SMEs and large companies in the industrial field, in which each and every one of those actions that lead to a improved energy efficiency through the substitution of technologies and processes and the implementation of energy management systems, with a budget of 49 million euros.

Exterior illuminated aids

Financing program in the form of a returnable loan without interest, to facilitate the renovation of the illuminated exterior for municipalities, with a budget of thirty-six million euros.
