45% of large companies have not yet contracted the energy audit

We live in a world of obligations and here no one is exempt from complying with the law, so large companies in the Spanish sector will have to accelerate their obligations to comply with the Spanish Energy Audit Law if they want to be up to date with the imposition of the Real Decree 56/2016 and avoid the dreaded sanctions of the Spanish State.

They are taking a lot of calm, taking into account that the process of auditing a large company is not relative to two days if a report is required that meets all the relevant requirements and a minimum of quality required. Taking into account that the deadline for submitting the document is 9 months after the entry into force of the Royal Decree (Approved February 14, 2016), so said Companies must have the audit before November 15, 2016.

More than one audit technician is thinking …

But back to reality. A new study prepared by the Association of Energy Efficiency Companies (A3E) confirms what many professionals in the sector are fearing, that the47% of large companies have not yet started the process of contracting energy audit services out of a total of 3,800 Companies that need the document at the end of the year.

45% of the companies that have requested a budget have not yet resolved or awarded the services. And the but of everything, is that only 716 companies have already carried out the corresponding audit, that is, only 19% are currently audited in Spanish territory.

The study also confirms the poor technical quality of professionals in the sector in the Spanish market with special emphasis, that 28% of the budgets (Energy Audit) that are being offered would not meet the minimum required scope by Royal Decree 56/2016.

We believe that public administrations must be forceful in complying with the regulations, although it must be considered that they are not obliged to carry out energy audits according to the consultation that we carry out with the IDAE information department. A really contradictory issue, in our opinion, since European regulations do not exempt, exclude or differentiate between private and public companies. Besides considering that …How is it possible that the public administration is not an example? In an issue as necessary as it is to acquire a responsibility in the energy efficiency of resources, and more so by being public.
