Ecosia
Sometimes we forget that a simple daily act can add a lot of value if we all put in a little will. So today we will remember a great seeker who has a very green heart and that they have also launched a new campaign to remind us that they are there.
Since the beginning of this century, more than 5.2 million hectares have been cut down, a factor that contributes significantly to the environmental pollution of our planet, which runs the risk of being left without trees. It is just a reminder!
To face this environmental catastrophe that many governments and administrations fold their arms. Since that December 2009, a young German named Christian Kroll created a search engine called Ecosia (Currently allies of Bing) and denominates by others, the "Green finder", which allows anyone who searches in the browser at the click of a button to contribute to reforestation.
The motto is simple … Help reforest the planet! Without us noticing, based on doing the online searches that we practice every day … But how? The web browser targets 80% of the benefits it generates for reforestation projects around the planet.
To date, more than 7 million active users use the browser in their daily tasks, more than 21,000,000 trees have been planted as we can see in the search screen. Not bad! … If we see the numbers that have already been invested in the initiative, at 0.20 cents per tree, well, calculate, because the number is one of the big ones and for the benefit of all.
The objective of the project is to proceed with the Atlantic reforestation, that is, the area that extends to Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, by the year 2022 thanks to the help of cybernetic people who every day use their computer for online research, simply from your sofa and of course, without spending a penny.
The project not only focuses on the areas mentioned above, but also extends to other areas such as Peru and Burkina Faso, places where deforestation is constantly occurring.
80% of the money comes from donations, affiliates (called Ecolinks) and advertising that are used to support reforestation in areas with the highest risk of deforestation. When a person buys in one of the places where there is an ecolink, 5% of the money will go to the reforestation program.
How can I start using the ecological browser? … Don't worry, it's quick and easy, you just have to search Google for the official Ecosia site or go to the link from www.ecosia.org, from that link, you will be able to search for what you need. feel like it and you will start contributing to the project.
We can also add it as a search engine - default browser as shown in the image:
In addition, if you start using this browser, you will have the opportunity to receive and inform yourself about your own achievements through the portal and to document new projects in progress.
Tree planting is especially necessary due to the growing environmental disasters that are occurring on our planet (See article on global warming of the planet). Trees help reduce the level of CO2 in the air, thus helping to limit air pollution and cool the planet. The land would become more fertile, resilient, and productive, and the sprawl of the desert would fall.
All of these changes would also help to recreate fertile forested areas that would provide in some parts of the world with work, food, health and a strong economy. It sounds amazing, but it's already happening and it's easy to help!
