Modular hives for home

We have already heard many times that without bees we could not live thanks to this silent pollination. In any case, pollinators face serious threats; the chemical compounds of pesticides, fertilizers and other products widely used in this extensive agriculture produce a harmful effect on many of its populations, not counting on the action of man to urbanize fragmenting ecosystems, which hinders and even confines species in territories limited.

In an attempt to get more people to reconnect with the nature of their food and to highlight the critical importance of pollinators to our food system, we are presented with an interesting project based on a modular hive system that can be installed inside the house. We are talking about the Beecosystem project!

The BEEcosystem is a modular system of hexagonal hives whose mounting is carried out on the wall, both for interior and exterior of the home, where we can observe the work of the laborioushoney bees (Domestic bees) without worrying about any risk.

A fully functional hive that includes transparency on its front part to be able to observe the activities inside the hive without disturbing the bees. There are several designs already available on the market, some for the exterior and others can be mounted inside the home.

Remember the article with the most original speakers on the market with that hexagonal shape and an impeccable design or the article with the best packaging that perfectly matches the different shapes of the bulbs with the silhouettes of the bodies of different insects in a graphics and color of early 20th century.

How do bees get into your house?… The indoor hive needs a tube that connects with the outside so that the bees can leave and enter the hive. The tube goes in a small unit designed to fit the window, somewhat like a miniature version of the vent tube for the air conditioner. The window unit has the additional advantage of providing the bees with an ideal platform for "take off and landing". The tube has a safety mechanism that closes instantly if disconnected.

Unlike traditional hive systems designed to observe bees that are limited by a fixed size, this time of modularity offers the possibility of expanding the internal space of the hive by adding different additional bodies according to the needs that may arise and also on a horizontal plane.

According to the promoters of the project… “We wanted to create a hive that would intentionally provoke meaningful conversations about the domestic bees. An ecosystem deliberately different from existing styles of beehives, celebrating a fusion of old and new ideas in the beekeeping«

A good design to observe the nature that sustains us, practical, simple and elegant. That's the kind of initial innovation that appeals to us!
