Sometimes it is difficult to assume the situation of a country in relation to renewable energy sector given the amount of information, both positive and negative news that we can find in the different media for the same territory.
Remembering, the concept of infoxication protected in the famous Pommer law … “A person's opinion can change after reading information about it on the Internet. The nature of the change is such that one goes from having no opinion to having a wrong opinion ”… This is called Infoxication”.
We wanted to show the reality of renewable from the perspective of numbers to be able to debate possible contradictions, with documents and information in hand.
IRENA (International Renewable Energy Agency) celebrates its fifth year of operations. The last five years have seen a dramatic change in the world energy. The dashboard below provides a 5-year snapshot of this global energy transition, and looks forward to what needs to be accomplished in 2030 by numbers.
The data can be consulted from IRENA at this link.
Information pertaining to the synthesis of the "Global Trends in Renewable Energy Investment" (Beware! When 1 Billion is indicated, it is actually a Billion) prepared by Frankfurt School - UNEP Center and Bloomberg New Energy Finance.
Once the state of the energy sector of the renewables globally, we have to delve into the numbers by countries. The data on electricity generation capacity with renewable energies shown in these tables (Here - Which are relative to ten years, from 2006 - 2015) represent the maximum net generation capacity of power plants and other facilities that use renewable energy sources to produce electricity.
As an example, we are going to investigate the energy reality of the last 10 years of Spain.
We no longer have any excuse to know exactly the energy situation in each country.
